In 1305 the Council of Venice granted a loan to Enrico Scrovegni for the consecration of Scrovegni Chapel frescoed by Giotto, in Padua.
In exchange for this, he asked the artist to paint frescoes
about the life of the Venetian doges.
There is no trace of where and when they were painted but a rent of plaster on canvas, like a relic, testifies that Giotto art passes through Venice too.
